The Mythical Age

This is the beginning of my world, during the Mythical Era when Dragons ruled the Realm.

In 0 Mythical Era (MA), the God Viius descended to the realm.  He formed it in all ways that are perfect.  One by one, the four lands were created.  They were inhabited by creatures.  Various beasts roamed the plains, ruled only by the first of the creatures.  The Dragons.

By 700 MA, the first created Dragon was named Eternal Queen of the Dragons.  The Queen of the Dragons, Nogard, created her seat of power in the Far North, past the Fields of Ice and Snow (Iolfa) and the Great Northern Mountains -- within the tallest Mountain in the world, known as Dragon's Throat, was where she resided.  Nogard created a system of ruling over the beasts of the world.

The Far North

The Dragons would be led by a council of three Dragons known as the Elder Dragons.  They contained Queen Nogard, Lord Ni'Tsua (the second created Dragon), and Lord Ni'Anoropa (the third created Dragon).  The Elder Dragons were given the power to travel to the Eternal Plane (Viius' Kingdom that exists outside of time and space) and back by Viius.

Symbol of the Elder Dragons

Viius left the Realm for a time, leaving the Elder Dragons to rule.  For eight hundred years, the Elder Dragons ruled fairly.  In 1500 MA, the Dragons split up their council's power even further.  They created a class of Dragons known as the Ancient Dragons and a Council made up of them.  The Ancient Dragons were given an increase in power and were referred to as Dragon Lords.

The Dragons Lords (which included the Elder Dragons as well), were given roles over specific species of animals.  Some took to being caretakers of the sea, while others became caretakers of the air.  But more Dragon Lords were needed.  So, many became caretakers of the land: The forests, the deserts, the mountains, the caves, the lakes, the rivers, and many other places.

Each Dragon Lord had the ability to change their form into any living creature, in order to easily protect them.  The Dragon Lords soon had their own followers and their own regions of control.  But all remained loyal to the Council and the Elder Dragons, with Viius being their God.

For one thousand and five hundred years there was peace and prosperity.  The creatures of the world were fruitful.  They lived in harmony with one another.  But in 3000 MA, a darkness plagued the Realm.  This darkness had been slowly spreading across the universe - caused by the ancient Cursed One, Malekith.

Malekith was one of the original creations in the universe by the God Viius.  Malekith however became filled with pride, greed, and doubt.  He sang darkness into the universe at the beginning of time, along with the song of Viius and the other six Kandryls.  His evil finally had reached the Realm.  Many of the Dragons fell pray to the Curse of Malekith, becoming Dark Dragons, fueled by evil.  This eventually led to a war, that tore the Realm apart.

In 3000 MA, the War of the Dragons began.  The land in the Southwest was scorched.  The main land was scared.  The Dragons commanded armies of beasts and creatures to fight.  Mountains were destroyed and valley's were made.  Giant craters were the result of the destruction.  These craters filled and became great lakes.  Deserts formed and volcanoes erupted.  The Realm was falling apart.

Incorruptible due to the power given to them by Viius, the Elder Dragons formed into one massive Dragon - named Norguel.  Norguel, deep within Dragon's throat in the Far North, created an alternate dimension, and a portal to that dimension, by use of a massive Kide Crystal - a crystal that enhances Vikus (the energy that binds everything together and flows directly from Viius).  This Alternate Realm (known as the Spirit Realm) was where Norguel went to lay three eggs, hidden away from the dangers of the Realm.

Norguel tended to the delicate eggs until they hatched.  The three dragons were named Na'Muhel, Arenndel, and Roannel.  These dragons have since been referred to as either the Protectors of the Realm or the Destroyers of the Realm.  They were created to do one thing: Eliminate all major threats that could cause the destruction of the world, and only being unleashed by Norguel.

Norguel then led the three from the Spirit Realm.  The four massive dragons fought against the forces of Malekith in 3500 MA.  Arenndel, the most powerful of Norguel's children, took back the mainland.  Roannel retook the land in the East.  Na'Muhel avenged the scorched lands of the west.  The last of the Dark Dragons fled to the Northeast, near a large Volcano.  Before the four dragons and their armies could reach them, they used their powers to embed themselves within the Volcano.  The Volcano became known as Death's Peak, and was declared unsafe for any to go near.  Norguel feared that if something went near Death's Peak they would be cursed by dark magic.

The War of the Dragons ended in 3700 MA.  However, the Realm had been ravaged by war.  Dragon Magic, second only to Pure Light Magic (Viius Magic), was meant to protect and bring life.  Instead, it had caused mayhem and destruction.  Norguel, along with every living Dragon, was deeply saddened by this.  She sent out the Dragon Lords, commanded by Na'Muhel, Arenndel, and Roannel.  They were ordered to restore the lands.  After three hundred years they succeeded.  The Dragons swore that they would never fight among themselves again.  They would strive to bring peace to the land.  And they became wiser for it.

Symbol of the Dragon Lords -- Ancient Dragons

In the year 4000 MA, Viius returned.  He was worshiped and all of creation sang out praises to Viius.  Viius wanted to share the gift of sentience not only to the Dragons but with a new creation as well.  He started small, and saw the goodness inside of Na'Muhel.  On Na'Muhel's continent, Viius picked up a pile of dirt.  He filled it with water, making mud.  With the mud he formed a man and woman.  He placed his lips on each, and gave them a part of his essence -- breathing life into them and making them more a part of Viius than the Dragons could ever be.  Viius named the man Muh and the Woman Muhha.  Telling them to be fruitful and ordering Na'Muhel to watch over them, Viius traveled the Realm with Norguel, finally ending up in the Spirit Realm.

Viius blessed the Spirit Realm with Pure Light Magic.  He also made it so that when any creature died, that they would awaken here.  These were just creatures however.  Animals.  Muh and Muhha could not enter as they were immortal, meaning they were unable to die from old age.  Viius then made it so that all Dragon Lords could at will enter into the Spirit World and could take others with them.  Viius gave the Dragons one final command.  To watch over and protect the descendants of Muh and Muhha as they were precious to him as well as a part of him.  Viius then created a symbol so that the whole world would remember Norguel, Na'Muhel, Arenndel, and Roannel.

The Dragon represents Norguel.
The three knots represent Na'Muhel, Arenndel, and Roannel.
The swirl in the chest represents Vikus and the Dragons connection to Viius.

Norguel then diffused, separating into Nogard, Ni'Tsua, and Ni'Anoropa.  The Elder Dragons returned to their duties, and began collecting all the stories about the War of the Dragons.

Viius then returned to Muh and Muhha, helping them and their children to create their own society, thus ending the Mythical Age and Beginning the Age of the Na'Muh.

The dot at the center near the lake is where
Muh and Muhha, along with their descendants, begin to settle.

The Age of the Na'Muh

Where we left off last time:  The Mythical Age came to a close after four thousand years, with the creation of mankind.  The first humans were Muh and Muhha.  This is the story of them and their children - the Age of the Na'Muh (AN) had begun.

At the center of their land, Muh and Muhha created a small village filled with their children.  The God Viius guided them in all ways that were good.  The Great Dragon Na'Muhel taught Muh and Muhha, along with their children, the ways of using Vikus to create magic.

After two hundred years, Muh and Muhha continued to lead their descendants.  Their village began to spread outward, forming a massive city state that stretched across the Great Lake called El.  The people began calling themselves the Na'Muh after Na'Muhel.  With the help of the dragons, the Na'Muh began construction of a massive pyramid structure south of the city.  It took two hundred years to construct.

I'm thinking of a Ziggurat Pyramid-like structure similar to this only much bigger.
In 400 AN, the structure was completed.  It would be known as the Great Library.  Inside, the Na'Muh and the Dragons began keeping records of all historical events, including things from the Mythical Era, such as the War of the Dragons.  At the center of the Great Library, deep within the earth, was a massive Kide Crystal.  It had the power to create a magical barrier to surround the entire land controlled by the Na'Muh.

The Great Library became a center of learning and a place of training.  All of the Na'Muh were required to learn how to use magic.  Many became very powerful.  Eventually a council was formed - The Council of Eight.  The Council of Eight was formed to give wise advice to Muh and Muhha, who had been declared King and Queen of the Na'Muh in 450 AN.  The Council of course gained its wisdom from the Viius directly.  Na'Muhel also continued to teach the council members new things.

Something kinda like the Jedi High Council from Star Wars
During 460 AN, the Na'Muh Military was formed.  It was filled with warriors trained to use weapons that were embedded with magical properties.  The Na'Muh Military was for all practicality used as a policing force.  It enforced the laws and kept peace and order among the citizens.  It's loyalty was to the King and Queen of the Na'Muh.  King Muh and Queen Muhha decided to create an elected leader that would be chosen among the Council of Eight members.  This leader would be known as the Great Councilor.  The Great Councilor would be the second most powerful individual in the Kingdom, after the Throne.  The Great Councilor would then choose a wise Na'Muh to become a new member of the Council of Eight.  After one hundred years, the Great Councilor would step down and a new Great Councilor would be named.  The Great Councilor was referred to as the eyes, ears, right hand and voice of the Throne.  The Great Councilor held the highest military rank, after the Throne.

Symbol of the Dragons was
carved all over the Great Library

The first Great Councilor was named Odras.  He was chosen in 500 AN.  From this a calendar system was created for the Na'Muh.  They would say it was Spring (or the current season - fall, winter, spring, summer) in the first year (or whatever year of reign) of Odras (or the name of the Great Councilor).  For example, someone was born the Summer in the Seventieth year of Odras.  Anyone who did not work as a Historian - known as Librarians - at the Great Library, would refer to a calendar like this.  The Librarians on the other hand would refer to the dates set down by the Ages - the way how I am dating things - example: In 470 Age of Na'Muh (AN).

In 600 AN, the Na'Muh had expand across the land.  More City States began to appear.  All of them claimed to be loyal to the original City State - Eldora - and to King Muh and Queen Muhha.  However, these were all loose states.  They were not well connected.  So, in 650 AN, the Great Councilor Taras and the Council of Eight helped the King and Queen draw eight provinces that extended from Eldora.

The Great Councilor and the members of the Council of Eight would be similar to Provincial Governors, and were referred to as Lords or Ladies.  The Great Councilor's title was changed to Lord Councilor.  Lord Councilor Taras would gain control of the lands within the City State of Eldora.  Meanwhile each Council member was given Lordship over the Eight Provinces.  They were named after the Eight Lords and Ladies:

Lord Voldof, Lord Avegor, Lady Isefa, Lady Tavia, Lady Roddena, Lord Addius, Lord Frylore, and Lord Aradash.

Red Diamonds are Hold Capitals

By 1000 AN, the Na'Muh Kingdom was a thriving society.  It contained several city states and remained in faithful devotion to Viius and his guidance.  The following Capitals, or Holds as they were known, arose in the Eight Provinces:

Voldof - Ohilla, Avegor - Lethyr, Isefa - Nes Serin, Frylore - Rya Serin, Aradash - Lenora, Addius - Ransharra, Tavia - Asaria, Roddena - Alora.

Each Hold contained a massive temple dedicated to Viius.  They also had a large library dedicated to Na'Muhel, and a large castle, where the Lord or Lady resided.  The system was Feudal in Nature, but magic sped up production of crops and other material.  The Na'Muh Kingdom quickly began to advance in technology.

In 1000 AN, the Lord Councilor Tynior ordered the construction of a major road system that would connect Eldora to the Hold Capitals.  From the major road system, more roads branched off.  They were used to connect the villages, towns, and cities located within each of the eight provinces.  The whole system was completed in 1200 AN:

Gray Lines are the Major Road System

In 1500 AN, Lord Roddena was elected to become the new Lord Councilor.  He realized that the Na'Muh were beginning to have an overpopulation issue.  Lord Councilor Roddena sent an expedition to the North East to the land across the sea.  Their fleet of twenty massive ships, filled with sailors, warriors, and settlers, set sail and landed in a desert land, created from the mountainous environment.  Outside of this mountainous environment, there was a small stretch of land full of life.  The Roddena Expedition constructed a city near the ocean in this area - this was in order to keep supplies coming in to fuel their growth.  The City was known as Pothar, after the leader of the expedition and son of Lord Councilor Roddena - Pothar Roddena.  They traveled further in land and created an outpost known as Ekona, named after Pothar's wife.  From this outpost, the Roddena Expedition would use their powers to terraform the land.

They used their powers to carve out a large ditch that stretched across the entire desert.  This was completed in 1550 AN.  The Expedition then released several springs that fueled the ditch.  From it a massive river was created.  This was completed in 1600 AN.  By then, Lord Councilor Roddena left his position of Lord Councilor and gave control of his province in Na'Muh to his second son, Byuses Roddena.  Lord Roddena then traveled to Pothar City and followed his son into the new land.  They founded a town within the still barren land as a test to see if their terraforming had succeeded.  The town was called Atrix, after Roddena's wife.

The Roddena Expedition changed the climate of the land, making it hospitable.  After years of cultivation, trees and valleys began to form.  Animals began to inhabit the lands.  By 1650 AN, the Roddena Expedition reported back to the mainland as a success in settling the new land.  More Na'Muh immigrants traveled to the new land.  Soon, more cities were created.  Lord Roddena ordered the construction of a large road system to connect the cities in 1700 AN.

In 1700 AN, King Muh and Queen Muhha declared Lord Roddena the Lord Protector of the new colony.  Lord Protector Roddena then went further south in his new land.  Where the Great River ended he founded a new city, one that would be the capital of the colony.  It was named Shilvé.

Lord Protector Roddena created a military for the new colony and appointed Pothar Roddena as the Lord Commander of the Military.  Lord Protector Roddena then created an organization that acted as personal bodyguards to Roddena's family.  They were called the Elvesians.  He appointed his third child, his daughter Gorrgonza Roddena, as Lord Commander of the Elvesians.  The Elvesians began to create a special kind of armor and weapons with a new material - metal.  The Elvesians would embed their armor and weapons with magic.

An Elvesian Soldier

In 2000 AN, Lord Councilor Aradash saw the great power that the Roddena Family had gained for 2000 years.  He began to fear their power.  His son, Alkeron Aradash, was more concerned than his father was.  Alkeron sought the guidance of not Viius, but Na'Muhel.  Na'Muhel gave Alkeron and his family the power to bond with dragons.  Soon, the entire Aradash Family were gifted with dragon eggs.  They hatched and raised their dragons.  Alkeron continued to fear the growing power of the Roddena and sought to learn more magic, recording his notes in the Great Library.

As Alkeron was on the verge of creating a powerful magic that could transfer his essence into a device that could be used as a weapon, a child of the Roddena appeared.  The child of the Roddena was a childhood rival of Alkeron.  The child of Roddena attacked Alkeron.  Alkeron injured the child of Roddena and managed to use his powers to transfer his essence into a device that contained a Kide Crystal.  His essence was contained inside the device but his body crumpled to dust.  Using his new powers enhanced by the device, Alkeron tried to kill the child of Roddena.  He nearly succeeded, but his device exploded from the amount of power being contained within, effectively killing Alkeron and nearly killing the child of Roddena, who escaped from the Great Library.

Lord Councilor Aradash investigated his sons disappearance and learned what happened from Alkeron's Dragon.  Lord Councilor Aradash sought for the arrest of the child of Roddena, but Lord Protector Roddena blocked the arrest.  Lord Councilor Aradash then did what Lord Protector Roddena had done.  He created his own personal guard known as the Videnians.  He appointed his second son, Tujeik Aradash, as Lord Commander of the Videnians.  This move caused tensions to rise between the Roddena and Aradash families.

In 2100 AN, King Muh and Queen Muhha sought the guidance of Viius as tensions were about to boil over.  Viius told them that they had to preserve peace.  If it came to a war, then Viius would have to leave.  When asked why, Viius replied that the Na'Muh were made perfectly in his image.  He said that if they killed each other they would commit the worst of sins and that more sins would come from it.  This great sin would eventually cause the fall of the Na'Muh from power and force Viius to be separated from the Na'Muh - this was because Viius was perfect in all ways.  If a creature that was not perfect in all ways looked at Viius, they would be vaporized due to their imperfections.  So Viius would have to separate himself from the creation that he loved so much.  Viius also warned that the Na'Muh would no longer remain immortal.  They would live for two hundred years at the most.

So, King Muh and Queen Muhha, along with the Royal Family began to spread the warnings of Viius.  However, many of the Na'Muh did not believe the warnings.  The Aradash and Roddena provinces were preparing for a fight.  The other six provinces were picking and choosing sides.  They didn't want to hear words about peace.  And beyond that, the Na'Muh had no concept of what it meant to die, for they could not, so the warning went over their heads.  This made Viius sad, but he continued to tell the Royal Family to warn the Na'Muh of what would happen.

In 2180 AN, the Roddena seceded from the Na'Muh Kingdom and formed their own Roddena Kingdom.  King Muh and Queen Muhha had no idea what to do.  They sent the military in, claiming that this was a rebellion against the Na'Muh Kingdom.  Lord Councilor Aradash led the Na'Muh army into the Roddena province.   The Na'Muh army clashed with the hastily created Roddena army.  Lord Councilor Aradash crushed the Roddena army after two weeks.  However, as they routed from the field, Lord Protector and newly crowned King Roddena led his Elvesians into battle.  The Elvesians slaughtered the Na'Muh army and Lord Councilor Aradash had no choice but to retreat.  And thus, the first blood of men was spilled.  The Na'Muh Civil War had begun.

Viius was furious.  But he loved his creation so much he did nothing - He knew that his creation would remain perfect if they loved and worshiped him, but forcing them to do so was not true love nor devotion.  So, he watched the death begin to spread as more Na'Muh provinces joined the Roddena or the Na'Muh.  Eventually, the Aradash decided that they wanted as much power as the Roddena had.  So they seceded from the Na'Muh Kingdom in 2200 AN after Lord Councilor Aradash was forced to leave Eldora City - he was  trying to retain his position as Lord Councilor after the one hundred year limit.

Many believed that Lord Aradash should have remained Lord Councilor.  They blamed King Muh and Queen Muhha for not allowing Lord Aradash to remain Lord Councilor and furthering the Na'Muh Civil War.  These dissenters were in the hundreds of thousands.  They fled their provinces and joined Lord Aradash, who crowned himself King of Aradash.

The Na'Muh Army under King Muh began to weaken as it tried to restore peace to the land.  Its one purpose was to reunite the lands.  The Elvesian Army under King Roddena sought to establish its independence and wanted nothing to do with the Na'Muh Kingdom or the Aradash Kingdom.  The Videnian Army under King Aradash sought revenge against King Roddena and his people for killing Alkeron.  He also sought to establish his borders against the Na'Muh Kingdom.  The six provinces either annexed themselves to the Roddena or the Aradash, making the Na'Muh Kingdom weaker, reducing it to nothing more than a city state.

In 2260 AN, the Na'Muh Civil War continued to rage across the land of Na'Muh and the ocean.  Eventually the Videnians landed on New Roddena and invaded the land.  The Videnian dragons burned the city of Ekona to the ground.  This evil use of dragons woke up the great dragon Arenndel.  Arenndel came to the aid of the Elvesians and forced the dragon army of the Videnians off of New Roddena.  With the Elvesians being able to repel the invaders and send them running back to the Na'Muh lands, Arenndel was claimed to be a gift from Viius and was worshiped as a God.

During 2265 AN, King Muh and Queen Muhha were assassinated.  Both the Roddena and Aradash were horrified by this.  Both claimed the other did this terrible act.  Due to the death of the King and Queen of the Na'Muh, the Roddena and Aradash declared a year long armistice, for mourning and rebuilding.  What they didn't factor in was Viius.

Viius was furious by the eighty-five years of non-stop bloodshed and misuse of magic.  Viius clapped his hands and instantly thousands upon thousands Na'Muh, Roddena, and Aradash dropped dead.  Volcanoes across the world erupted and storms brewed.  The storms at the sea swept the great Roddena Fleet away along with the Aradash and Na'Muh Navies.  The Volcano located in the Roddena province made the land a barren wasteland, killing thousands.  The rivers and lakes became poisoned by the sulfuric gas, killing the fish and all who drank from the water.  Then the ash from the volcano caused a significant drop in temperature and blotted out the sun.  Viius then raised his hands and caused a massive earthquake that tore the land apart.  The province of Aradash, containing the Great Library, broke off of the mainland and was pushed southeast.  The Northern part of the Na'Muh land broke off and was pushed North.  Eventually, this land broke off into three smaller islands.  The province of Roddena was contained in this island chain and became a barren desert.  What remained of the Na'Muh Land either was swallowed by the ocean in a massive tidal wave or they became small islands in the Southwest part of the Realm.

Viius then cursed mankind.  They were given two hundred years to live and then they would die.  Viius cursed the Na'Muh, by taking away their magical powers forever.

Viius cursed the Roddena terribly, as they had instigated the Na'Muh Civil War.  So he cursed them, reducing their civilization to sticks and stones, and destroying their great cities.  Viius opened up the ground and it swallowed Lord Protector Roddena and Lord Commander Pothar and Lord Commander Gorrgonza.  Viius killed all of the Roddena that were older than thirty years old.

Viius cursed the Aradash, isolating them on their island from the rest of the world.  He cursed them with a prophecy of the future - of a day when the people of the island will be no more but their words would live on long after their death.  Viius opened the ground and it swallowed King Aradash and Lord Commander Tujeik.  He killed all of the Aradash who were older than thirty years old.  He also gave them the burden of helping the dragons continue to keep a record of all historical events that happened in the world.

Viius then had no choice but to leave the Realm and return to his Eternal Kingdom.  However, Viius would not leave his creation to fend for themselves.  So he sent one of his original seven creations - a Kandryl named Baesaestia - to bring balance back into the Realm.

Viius leaving the realm marked the end of the Age of the Na'Muh.  The arrival of Baesaestia began the Age of Spirits (AS).
