ST ENT

Sorry I've been gone for so long.  I've hit that terrible phase that all writers despise - Writer's Block.  I didn't meet my deadline for my stories first draft, but I assure you I am still working on it.  I've also been distracted by a TV show I've become addicted to.  Finished the series last night actually.  The series was called Star Trek Enterprise.

Anyway listen to this video as you read on :D

As I understand it, Star Trek Enterprise has gotten a lot of crap over the years.  Something about no character development, and lack of story quality, etc.  Yeah, don't believe what the critics say.  I'm not a big Star Trek fan, but I was fascinated by this show.

The show follows Captain Jonathan Archer and his crew aboard the new Star Ship Enterprise.  The show has plenty of character development if you are actually watching it.  The biggest character development would be that of Commander Charles "Trip" Tucker, Captain Jonathan Archer, T'Pol, and Dr. Phlox.  These four characters pretty much carried the show, and it was an awesome ride.  For four seasons, the show follows the crew of Enterprise in the early years of Star Fleet.  The show ends with the formation of the United Federation of Planets.

I thought the fourth season was awesome because it actually showed all the pieces falling into place that would lead to the formation of the Federation.  The fourth season also had several nods towards the other Star Trek shows and movies.

Season three, however was the best season by far.  It contained the most character development and the best story lines of the entire series.  It was fascinating to say the least.  However it doesn't surprise me that season three was the best.  It has been my observation that the third season of any TV show often is the "make or break" season, determining whether or not the show will continue on or be cancelled.

Season two was ok, and only further built the Star Trek Universe, giving several nods to the other series.  Season two attempted to start better character development and plot lines, but didn't have as great as an affect as season three did.

Season one was fine.  It did drag on for the first couple of episodes.  The pilot seemed to take forever to get to the point, but other than that the show started to move along just fine.  There was little character development, and not as good plots.  However, season one began to set up the characters that would develop so well into the characters that are in season four.  In that sense, season one was did a perfect job at setting up the show.

All in all, I really like the show.  I was intrigued by it all.  The only thing I despised was the series finale.  It literally was awful.  It seemed to belong to an entirely different show ;) , and the characters seemed to have lost all their dynamic character traits and qualities that had been developed for four seasons.  The death in the episode was a "feels" moment, but it could have been so much more.  The ending of the show should have had so much more.  And it should have never of involved the cast of Star Trek Next Generation.  That was the dumbest decision the director/writers made throughout the entire series.

In conclusion I'd give Star Trek Enterprise 4/5 stars, for it's interesting plots and characters.  I encourage anyone to watch it, and go where no man has gone before.

So here is the theme song for the show and yeah, it may be a little excessive, but it was still hands down an awesome show.
