If you've been following me for the past two posts then you know that I've been updating you on my story progress and have been starting to reveal to you some of the Ancient Lore of Mankind.  Remember, the lore is just the bare minimum, and are not the complete stories.  I plan on going back to eventually use these pieces of lore to write short stories.


So before we get into the Lore, here is my story update:

I did reach 83 pages last time I posted.  However, I made the unfortunate realization that the last five pages really don't add or take away from the story.  It actually takes the story in a completely different direction.  So I'm gonna have to go back and cut it.  I'm pretty sure I'll be able to regain my number of 83 pages and hopefully by the end of the day I'll be soaring above 100 pages.

Alright.  Before we get into the lore, I encourage you to read on past the excerpt from what I wrote.  Kinda like a stayed tuned thing.  Haha.  I'll be giving you a movie or TV show recommendation after the excerpt.

The Rise of the Aidis

Several years later, Lumir spoke with Kyyja, seeking to fix Mankind and Kyyja.  Kyyja agreed to meet Lumir in the Playing Fields.  When Lumir arrived, Kyyja used her powers to confine Lumir.  Kyyja then brought Lumir before her Dark Lord, the Dark Entity that had corrupted her.  The Ancient Dark Entity began corrupting Lumir’s Pure Light Spirit.  Lumir began to feel his Spirit going dark.  When only a glimmer of Light was left, Lumir called out the sacred name of the Lord Viius.

The Lord Viius appeared in an instant, making the Dark Entity flee before him.  It screeched horribly as it fled the Realm.  Kyyja became terrified and fled as well, fearing what Viius would do to her.  Viius then freed Lumir, and brought him back to the surface.

Viius explained to Lumir that when the Universe was created, one of the Seven Original Creations (the Kandryls) introduced doubt and fear to the Realms.  Viius explained that the Dark Entity was referred to as the Bos Tumma, forsaking his holy name.  Viius then said that he gave the choice to all of creation on whether they would follow him or the later, Bos Tumma.

(I haven't really decided if this one is to be Bos Tumma or if it is Lunar)

Viius then told Lumir that he was leaving for the Eternal Realm and would not return, closing the portal to the Eternal Realm to all but three.  This was because darkness had come to the world, and though Viius loved his creation, he knew that if beings corrupted by Darkness stood in the presence of a Being made of Pure Light, they would disintegrate when they looked upon his true form.

As Viius prepared to leave, Lumir begged Viius to take the darkness from his soul.  Viius warned that magic can neither be created nor destroyed, meaning that the darkness he took from Lumir would have to go somewhere.  He also warned that this kind of magic would come at a great price.  Lumir wanted to know the details, as he was wise.

Viius told Lumir that Lumir’s soul would be split in two, Bos and Dor; the Dark and the Light.  But Lumir would no longer be able to manifest a physical form, and that Lumir would have to place his spirit inside a host of a sentient-humanoid, swearing to bring balance and be the voice of Viius in the Realm.

Then Viius warned of another price that came with the deal; that Lumir’s Dark Spirit, named Lunar, would be imprisoned on a newly created moon that never sets.  He warned that Lunar would be released every four thousand years to unleash his evil on the Realm, and that if he succeeded in defeating Lumir, the Realm would be covered in three thousand years of Darkness.

This was the price…and Lumir accepted.

Viius pulled the Darkness out of Lumir, creating Lunar.  Viius then banished Lunar onto a newly created moon.  Viius then increased Lumir’s Pure Light Powers tenfold.  Lumir was told about the Vikken State and the passing of his Spirit.  Lumir then was told he was to first lead Mankind to unity.  Viius then embedded Lumir’s Spirit into a newborn child of a lowly human tribe, near the southern part of the Great Lake.


Abda’s Birth and Calling

The child’s name was Abda, and he was the first Aidis.  Abda at a young age had visions, given to him by Viius.  He was also trained in hand-to-hand combat, as all members of his tribe were.  He was told and taught the stories of old, and became very inquisitive with them, desiring to know more.

At the age of fourteen, Abda began to realize he had the ability to use Vikus, the magical property that connected all living things together and flowed from Viius.  However, Abda’s curiosity with his powers made him accidently burn down his entire village, killing many including his Chief.  Abda became terrified of the consequences, and before anyone could do anything to him, he fled to the Northwest in self-exile.  He learned to live off the land early on.  Eventually he ended up in Elvish Lands.

The Elves, being a peaceful people and wanting to keep the balance, took Abda to their capital, Shilvé, which was still under construction.  The Elves, being deeply connected to Vikus and being very wise, taught Abda how to use his powers.  They trained him well and eventually he learned how to use the Vikken State.  Abda then had a vision from Viius.

In his vison, Viius told Abda that the time had come to return to the land of Mankind, and unite them, fulfilling the destiny of all Aidis’.  Abda was at first fearful.  Viius comforted Abda, saying that much has changed in the Land of Man.  He explained that eight kingdoms had risen, uniting the various tribes.  He also told Abda that no matter where he went or what he faced, that he would go before Abda.  So Abda accepted and began his journey back to the Land of Man.

So from this lore we learned a few things.  How the dark creature Lunar was created from Lumir, and how Lunar would return every four thousand years.  We also learned why the God Viius left the Mortal Realm into his Eternal Realm in order to protect his creation from being obliterated when they looked upon him.  We learned a little about Vikus and the magic of the world.  Finally we were introduced to the man named Abda, who was the first of the Aidis.  My next post will be about Abda and his journey to unite mankind into one Confederation of Kingdoms.

So as promised, here is my Movie recommendation for today:

If you haven't seen it already, go and check out Guardians of the Galaxy 2.  It was a great movie and has been out for some time now.  It had a lot of funny parts and was able to throw in a lot of emotional parts as well.  Overall it was surprisingly good writing.  But it's Marvel, so how couldn't it have been. haha.

Continuing on with what I said yesterday, I'm gonna post the sixth part of the broad Abatral History.  If you haven't figured it out yet, you should take notice that most of the history of Abatral revolves around or is directly caused by the Aidis, for better or worse.  This is something that plays out even with the story I am working on currently - the Illum story (haha I still need to figure out a better title for that 😃)

Little History Joke for the day :)

The Sixth Aidis



Hilkiah, the Sixth Aidis, was raised as a farmer.  She was taught by her parents the teachings of Jehoiada.  Hilkiah was given visions early on – prophecies of the future soon to be.  A future of death and destruction.  Her parents knew that the Okreds were growing in power, and that their hatred for mankind was unchallenged.  When the Saphid Kingdom fell, the Elves came to the human lands – where the different groups of humans were still fighting with each other – and warned them that they must prepare for the coming of the Okreds.  The human leaders used their armies to chase the Elves off, laughing at them openly.

When Hilkiah was a teenager, she began spreading the words of Viius to those living near her home.  She proclaimed that Viius was angry with his people and that they would be punished for their foolishness and rebellion against him.  She further said that Viius would one day bring his people back, but first they would learn a lesson – a lesson that could only be learned from a rude awakening.  The people openly mocked Hilkiah and her family.  They even mocked Viius.

Then one day Viius spoke to Hilkiah.  He warned her that the Okreds were planning to invade the human lands, and that within a few days all of humanity would be subjugated.  He told Hilkiah to take all her things and to leave her home for the Elvish Kingdom.  She told her parents what had to be done.  As they prepared to leave the people of their village attacked them, fed up with her prophecies.  They burned their house down as they attempted to flee.  But they were stopped by a group of armed men, who killed her father.  They attempted to flee but they were captured.

Hilkiah tried to force herself into the Vikken State, but couldn’t do it.  She hadn’t been trained properly.  Just as the group of men prepared to kill them, from the distance they heard screaming.  They looked to the place of the screaming and saw a far off fire.  They heard hoses approaching and soon after an Okred horseman rode into the village with five others, and started slaying the humans, showing no mercy.

Hilkiah was released and she fled along with her mother.  They ran as fast as they could, but an Okred raider chased them down, and ran over Hilkiah, breaking her legs.  They almost killed her mother, but Hilkiah unleashed all of her powers and killed the Okred.  Hilkiah’s mother put Hilkiah on top of the horse, and mounted behind her.  The two then rode away with best speed to the Elvish Kingdom.

Once they arrived, they noticed that the Elves were intensely working on their boarder defenses.  Their archers began to take positions.  The Elves welcomed them into their kingdom.  The Elvish Council brought Hilkiah to the Viius Sanctum and taught her the ways of the Aidis, as recorded by Eliezer, the third Aidis.  Hilkiah became wise, and she was protected inside of the Elvish Kingdom.  When the Okreds attempted to invade the Elvish Kingdom, it failed horribly.  It was like hitting a stone wall.  The Okreds attempted to fortify their position opposite the Elves and tried to blockade them from the sea.  The Elves were able to use their superior weapons to destroy anything that got in their way.

Hilkiah received the words of Viius and was told to go to the Far North – to the Dragons, and to seek their wisdom.  Hilkiah told the Elves about this, and they sent their elite soldiers to guard the Aidis – as she was still disabled.  The Aidis Guard boarded an Okred ship and killed all the Okreds on board.  They then helped Hilkiah and her mother board the ship.

When they arrived in the North and disembarked they traveled many miles in land, being led by visions given to them by Hilkiah.  Hilkiah led them to a small settlement, built inside of a mountain range.  Those who lived there were from all the fallen kingdoms in the world, who had fled from the oppression of the Okred Empire.

They were stopped by multiple dragons who warned them that they could only enter if they spoke the truth and meant no harm towards those that lived there – for they were under their protection.  Hilkiah explained to the Dragons her entire story, including how she was injured.  She also told them that she was the Aidis.  The Dragon Lord who led this group of Dragons took great pity on Hilkiah and allowed her and her guard inside of the settlement.

The Dragon Lord changed his form to that of a human male, and began to teach Hilkiah magical healing powers.  Eventually Hilkiah learned how to use magic to heal her legs.  She was free from her paralysis.  The Dragon Lord – Zabbai– continued to teach Hilkiah magic.  Hilkiah could not fully understand Dragon Magic, but Zabbai taught her almost every other form of magic.  They grew close together and even married.  They had a child – a son named Baruch.  Baruch was the first of the Goryon – a humanoid whose parents were a humanoid and a dragon, inheriting dragon magic as a birth right.

Hilkiah got the people to build steps up to the top of the tallest mountain – Dragon’s Mouth.  Once they reached the peak, they constructed a large temple – Dragon Mouth Temple or simply Nogard’s Temple.  It was dedicated to the Queen and leader of all the dragons, Nogard.  It was also dedicated to the study and use of the true art of magic.

Hilkiah, with guidance of Nogard and Zabbai, oversaw the formation of the Goryon Kingdom.  She crated it as a lasting hope to the rest of the world; to remind the world that the Aidis had not forgotten about them.  The Dragon’s protected the Goryon, solidifying the Kingdom.  The Dragon Lords also mated with the different humanoids that lived in the Goryon Kingdom, allowing the birth of more Goryon.

The Goryon eventually used their magic to create the Ice Giants as a first defense for their kingdom.  The Aidis Guard also trained the Goryon army, and taught them balance.

Eventually Hilkiah gave command of the Goryon Kingdom to the first Goryon, her son Baruch.  Baruch became the King of the Goryon.

After this, Hilkiah left the Goryon Kingdom and traveled far away, to see what the world was like.  She learned that the world was suffering still.  She eventually returned to the Elvish Kingdom, and passed her powers on to an Elf.  Almost immediately she became week.  Her paralyses returned.  Her Aidis Guard had to carry her back to her ship, and took her back to the Goryon Kingdom.  She passed away shortly after.

Abatral History V

With Thanksgiving coming up, I'm just gonna continue to post the History of the World I've created.  I think it is really cool just to sit back and realize that I did make this, and to see if it will ever go anywhere in the future.  I think what is awesome about this is it isn't very in depth, but eventually I'll go back and make it so there are actually stories to along with these broad history summaries.  You'll have to forgive me if some of my thoughts while writing are jumbled.

Also - my story writing is going great.  I've gotten past the first four chapters and chugging along beautifully!!  Once Illum basically gets chased out of the Palace - Enochi Tower - the story will be easier to write - at least until the climatic ending. 😃

The Fifth Aidis



The Fifth Aidis was an Okred named Jehoiada.  Jehoiada was trained by his parents in the way of the Aidis, and told him stories of the previous Aidis.  Jehoiada eventually was able to enter into the Vikken State and was the first Aidis to communicate with their previous lives.  All four of them counseled and trained Jehoiada.  They made him into a powerful and wise leader.  Jehoiada became a more recognizable figure after he started making a difference for the Okred people.

They were highly impoverished.  Jehoiada was given the words of Viius to help the poor.  So Jehoiada used all his wisdom to bring the Okreds out of their poverty.  He created jobs – mostly commercial.  What was considered the King of the Okreds eventually decided to make Jehoiada the prime minister of the Okreds.

Jehoiada began requesting trade with the Dwarfish Kingdom, the Saphid Kingdom, and the Elvish Kingdom.  He attempted to commence trade with humanity, but humanity treated him with great contempt.  Humanity still remembered that the Okreds had once invaded their lands, and they refused to let such a thing happen again.

Jehoiada eventually saw the Okred Kingdom grow in power.  The people of his kingdom became very supportive of him.  They even planned to oust the King of the Okreds and replace him with Jehoiada.  However, Jehoiada intervened – saving the Okred Kings life.  He announced that he was leaving political life at a time when the Okred Kingdom was prospering.  He opened up a Library – later called the Library of Jehoiada – and filled it with knowledge that he gained from the kingdoms that the Okreds traded with.  Jehoiada wrote many books of wisdom, and guidelines for his people.  The Okred King constantly sought his advice, to which Jehoiada wrote a book specifically for the Okred King, instructing him on how to rule properly.

Eventually Jehoiada received the words of Viius to go to human lands.  Viius wanted Jehoiada to bring balance back to humanity.  To stop his most loved creation from constantly fighting and killing each other.  He left Dokel and traveled to the lands of Man.

Mankind despised him.  They refused to listen to him and often tried to fight him, to which he would simply leave, only using magic to knock those who attacked him off their feet.  The hatred in mankind was so much that Jehoiada left the Lands of Man and traveled to Shilvé, the capital of the Elvish Kingdom.  He sought the wisdom of the Elves.  The Elvish council brought Jehoiada to the Viius Sanctum, hoping that he would receive a vision from Viius.

After weeks of meditation, Jehoiada finally received words of wisdom from all the previous Aidis’ and from Viius.  He saw Viius in a vision as he touched the giant Kide Crystal in the Viius Sanctum.  Viius showed him that mankind would be united one day – by an Aidis; however, it would not be him who united mankind.  Viius told Jehoiada that he must not give up however; because the seeds that he plants now will grow fruitful eventually.  Humanity needs to know that not all of the Okreds are trying to kill them.

Jehoiada then prepared to leave the Elvish Kingdom, when Lord Jehoiakim of the Elves stopped him.  He warned Jehoiada that war was coming, and that the world was in grave danger.  He asked who would start this war, to which Jehoiakim sadly said it would be the Okreds.  Jehoiada acknowledged this and left, to fulfill the words of Viius.

After many years of failure, he finally was accepted by some humans.  These humans were unlike the others.  They were devout followers of Viius and sought to keep in balance with him.  Jehoiada stayed with these humans for a while, until one day he received the words of Viius.  Viius told him it was time to pass the Spirit of Lumir to someone new.  The new holder of the spirit would be the soon to be born child of the family who took him in.

During the following months, Jehoiada began writing instructions about the Aidis.  He gave it to the family who took him in, and explained it to them to the best of his abilities.  The family accepted this responsibility.  When the child was born – a daughter named Hilkiah – Jehoiada took the child and said the words as he passed on the Spirit of Lumir.  Jehoiada was greatly weakened as almost all of his powers left his body.  As soon as the Spirit of Lumir was safely embedded inside of Hilkiah, Jehoiada began to return to Dokel.

When he reached the nearest harbor, he noticed that an Okred army camp was set up.  The Okred commander walked out and greeted Jehoiada.  Jehoiada questioned why a small Okred army was on human lands.  The commander explained that the war with the humans was about to begin.  Jehoiada questioned this.  The commander then apologized and ordered his men to arrest Jehoiada.  Jehoiada being weak, could do nothing to stop this.  He was loaded on a boat, and shipped back to Dokel.

On his way, Viius spoke to Jehoiada.  Jehoiada had believed that Viius had forsaken him, but listened willfully to his words.  Viius told him not to be afraid.  He said that he had done his duty as the Aidis well, and has prepared the way for the future.  Viius then explained that death was upon Jehoiada, but that he should not fear death.  Viius explained that his body would be destroyed, but his spirit would live on.

Jehoiada listened and was not afraid.  When he was brought to Dokel, he was deeply saddened.  The Library of Jehoiada had been burned.  The Temple of Viius was destroyed – it was replaced with a Temple of Kyyja.  Jehoiada was brought before the new King of the Okreds – Nahashnabal – the son of the previous king, who had passed away under odd circumstances.

Nahashnabal accused Jehoiada as a traitor.  He was the only one who knew Jehoiada had returned to Dokel, besides the soldiers who brought him there and the commander.  Nahashnabal then told Jehoiada his plans to invade the mainland and to show the world that the Okreds were a force not to be trifled with.  Jehoiada demanded to know why the king had turned his back on his people.

Nahashnabal explained that he fell under the teachings of Kyyja.  He explained that she promised the Okreds a chance to rule.  He also said that the people needed to rally behind a strong leader.  He told Jehoiada that he killed his father one night, and blamed it on a group of rebels.  He then claimed that the rebels were the followers of Viius, and that it was Viius who had ordered the attack on his father.  He then explained that Kyyja had luckily protected him from the attack.  Then Kyyja appeared before the people and explained what had happened.  She told them that Viius was to blame; as were the humans who he loved so much.  Kyyja then demanded that the Temple of Viius be destroyed, and the priests killed as well.  Then a new temple be made in her honor.

Then one night, Kyyja set fire to the Library of Jehoiada.  Nahashnabal explained that he told his people that it was humans who had done this.  The people believed him and wanted to have revenge on the humans.  Nahashnabal then said that he and Kyyja hatched a plan to invade the human lands – a plan that would rally all of the Okreds against the humans.

Nahashnabal then explained that Jehoiada himself would be the scape goat.  That once Jehoiada was killed and his body was desecrated, that the Okreds would be told that the humans did this and that his body was recovered by soldiers who were requested by Jehoiada to come help him flee the human lands.  Nahashnabal was proud about this plan.

At this moment Jehoiada was given the words of Viius – to tell Nahashnabal that his dynasty, his line, would end when he was old in age.  And that he would be driven into madness, and would eventually would be burned by fire, from his foolishness by attacking Viius’ chosen people.  Jehoiada told Nahashnabal these words, and Nahashnabal became furious.  He grabbed a spear and threw it at Jehoiada, fatally injuring him.  Jehoiada however, pulled the spear out and stood back up.  He then said that Viius was with him, and that Nahashnabal had doomed the Okred race.  That he was to blame for the destruction of his own people.  And that in the end, he would burn in the fires of his failure.  Nahashnabal then began beating Jehoiada.  But Jehoiada refused to give Nahashnabal any leverage.  He just stared at the King, with the greatest amount of disappointment and sadness.  Then Nahashnabal took his sword and slayed Jehoiada.  He then desecrated Jehoiada’s body.

The following day, Nahashnabal brought Jehoiada’s body out of the palace, and into the courtyard.  The people gathered around their king and fallen Aidis.  The King then claimed that his body was recovered by his forces that were sent to rescue Jehoiada from the humans, and that the humans had killed Jehoiada and desecrated his body.  He blamed his people for not allowing him to act soon enough.  He claimed that the humans would be destroyed for this outrage or enslaved.  The people agreed and the Okreds prepared for invasion.

In the years that followed, the Okreds began invading the Dwarfish Kingdom – and succeeded.  Their goal was to secure the Forge from the Dwarves and use it to fuel their armies.  However, the Dwarves managed to hide the Naphtali’s Staff deep inside of a cave guarded by a Forest Dragon Lord.  The Forge was placed under heavy guard and the Dwarves were subjugated to Okred rule.  The Okreds forced the Dwarves to work for them and to gather resources for their growing empire.  Then Nahashnabal prepared to invade the Saphid controlled Aona Islands.  He used the resources he gained from the Northern forest – harvested by his Dwarfish slaves – to create a massive and heavily armored fleet of ships.

He then sent an invasion fleet to the Aona Islands and began to take it over, crushing the Saphid Naval Fleet, despite the Saphid superior naval tactics.  Once the Saphid fleet was destroyed, the Aona Islands slowly began to fall under the growing Okred Empire.  Once the Saphids were enslaved, they were forced into cruel submission.  Their temples were destroyed and the Okreds dealt with Saphid dissenters by public execution.
