The bad news is, life isn't easy.
The good news is, you don't
have to depend on yourself.
You can rely on God.
- Bilal Zahoor
So here's a brief story update.
I don't remember if I said this yet, but I've decided to create a new Prequel to my stories - making the series into four books. I've already completed the first three chapters and I am continuing on. This book should actually be shorter than the others.
The purpose of it is to set up all of the major characters, giving them their own personalities. It basically takes place four years before the book I was working on. This one focuses on Illum's relationship with his friends and pretty much his adoptive family - King Yurid and all the people in the Palace.
It also explains how Illum's life got turned upside down and why he ended up running away from King Yurid and traveling all across the Kingdom of Abatral with his two friends Perseus and Randle, while being chased by Yarmik and the Black Hand.
So it should be interesting, and it should give me more important plot conflicts to deal with as I finish the prequel and move on to finishing the now second book in the series. Lots of fun - + NaNoWriMo 50 k words :)
Now I'm talk about a person who I truly am thankful for. Her name is Cindy Mcwhirt. She was the cashier at my college's dinning commons. She took it on herself to get to know everyone's name as much as she could. She always had a smile on her face, and would say small things or give small compliments that just made your day.
She had a love for frogs - and one day I asked her about this. She told me that FROG stood for Fully Rely On God. Her life is an example of living that out. As I continue going to college to become a History Teacher, I take my memory of Cindy with me. She had a huge impact on my life.
And I pray to God that I will never forget that it's the small things that matter. The little things that count. I pray that I never forget that I can make a difference in a students life, just by giving a small compliment or asking them how their day was. I hope to God that I never forget what Cindy taught me. I hope I never forget the meaning of FROG either, and that my life would truly show that I Fully Rely On God.
Thank you Cindy, for being a friend to me and taking the time to get to know me. It truly did mean the world for me.
