Indiana is my home.
So last weekend, my home county was celebrating the Indiana Bicentennial. I unfortunately could not be there to celebrate in person because of school. Thanks to technology, I was at least able to watch some of the things they were doing back home on a live stream.
The thing I was watching was a celebration put together, that brought multiple bands and choirs in my home county to Grace College. I was able to listen to this concert. It was from this concert that I was truly reminded why I love my home - why I love Indiana - so much.
So start the video for some background music :) and read on :D
Here are just a few things that I love about my home:
1.
When stuff begins to get harvested. I have always loved how the light brown color reflects the sun off of the crops. It looks like a sea of gold, shinning beautifully throughout the day. Surprisingly, it took me a while to find a picture that shows this.
2.
Autumn in Indiana is one of the coolest seasons. Stuff starts to get a little chillier, but the life around us begins to change from lively green, to all sorts of colors. The top picture is more what it is like in Northern Indiana; the bottom is more what it is like in Southern Indiana (Brown County).
3.
Another beautiful part of life here are the bonfires and campfires. Fire is a beautiful thing to watch; it's very calming to watch the flames licking the air around it.
4.
When winter hits, and the trees are covered in snow, and the branches are encased in ice. When this happens, mixed with the white color of the snow, the sun reflects beautifully on it - almost blindingly. And occasionally there are few wild turkey's lol :D
5.
Spring time. Haha, spring is probably the best season of the year!! My favorite tree starts to bloom. I can start getting ready to plant my garden. Basically it is the rebirth of life. Haha, Indiana is a metaphor :)
6.
And then there is summer. Where we go camping, enjoy nature, and enjoy the company of our friends and families.
7.
And of course the best things about Indiana are the Sunrises...
8. And Sunsets!
9.
But I could never forget about the wildlife. The birds, the squirrels, the wild turkeys, the raccoons, the deer, and so many others.
Yes I have a fascination with cardinals :)
10.
The blue skies, speckled with white clouds. The calming breeze of wind brushing over your shoulder. The rustling of the leaves on the tree. The birds singing in the distance. The coolness of the green grass. The life all around you. The place that I call my home. Indiana
Two hundred years old,
She will forever be home,
My beloved home...
Indiana.
